Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21 in 1983) is a well-known American actress. Most notably, she was the character Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Following the divorce of her parents, she left Worthington, Ohio to live with her family in Los Angeles. Though she struggled financially in 2001, her debut came as Rachel's Room's main character. In 2002 she was nominated to receive an Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford, the role she played in Lost from 2004 to 2005 was selected for a Screen Actors Guild Award. The show ended in 2005 and Grace was keen to work on film more frequently, having played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. In addition, she appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and also starred alongside Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in the year 2008. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is a modern interpretation from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series in the final two episodes playing Shannon. In 2013 she appears in the sixth episode of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who's the star-gazer and a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She's the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), as well as younger that Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first appearances were in films starring her father in his adolescent years. Together with her brother she appeared as a character in Donnie Darko (2000). She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's leading roles in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, and Sherrybaby (a dramatic) received her nominations for Golden Globe Award. She gained wider recognition for her role as Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008), thanks to several successful commercials she appeared in in 2006. In 2009, she was recognized for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Oscar Awards for her performance of a single mother on screen in Crazy Heart. In the following years she was a part of comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Other roles she has played included Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller), musicians in Frank (2014 Drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and The Kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal began her professional career as director, screenwriter and script writer when she directed and wrote the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter. The film won Best Screenplay at The Venice International Film Festival, and it was nominated by The Academy Award. Academy Award.
