Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. They moved to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five and enrolled in an academy called the Dragon School. Emma had a dream to become a professional actor since she was six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting school that offers part-time classes. As early as age ten she was involved as the lead in numerous Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. In 1999 casting began to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was found by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theater teacher. After eight auditions consistently, the producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected to play the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first film appearance was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It was also one of the top-rated films in 2001. The opening weekend and day ticket sales were record-breaking. The film was praised by critics, as were the performances of its three young stars. The Daily Telegraph in Britain and the Daily Telegraph in America, widely read, called her performance commendable. Emma was later awarded five prizes for her performance in the movie.
